A warm welcome home
At Hygge Design, we craft soulful interiors that support a life well lived. Inspired by the Danish philosophy of hygge and grounded in Australian ease, we create spaces that feel calm, natural, and deeply personal. With every detail, we aim to bring comfort, beauty, and meaning into the everyday spaces that don’t just look good, but feel like home.
Our vision is to redefine interior design by blending Danish minimalism with Australian warmth creating functional, sensory rich homes that inspire happiness, and a better way of living.
Hygge Design - It’s well being for your home
Pointside
Pointside ca.1890
Carefully balances the nuance between the old and the new. A special Beaumaris home, sensitively renovated with warm and welcome interiors.
Walnut timber joinery and wall panelling exude elegance and timeless design. Whilst simplicity and visual lines are a gentle nod to the mid-century era and Scandinavian design.
Restrain in materiality - Less is more
Nordic Hut
A passive house in Woodend, filled with natural light, cosy corners and the best library ever, it is a great example of sustainable living and a home designed for endless moments of hygge; of comfort, connection and happiness.
Embracing hygge in the rhythm of daily life, one’s habits, routines and rituals.
Grant House
An iconic mid-century gem in the heart of Beaumaris, originally designed by renowned Architect Peter McIntyre.
The Grant house was designed for living and connection to nature - The natural light is wonderful and a neutral palette of warm timber and green layers, allowed the unique roofline and rear sunroom to be the heroes of the main living area.
Placing seating at the end of the kitchen island encourages more conversations and deeper connections, whilst it is also a fab spot to savour your morning coffee, with the sun peeping through.
A warm, welcome and fun home to be enjoyed by our lovely clients and their family and friends, for many years to come.
CARLIE FRASER
FOUNDER AND CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Curious by nature and a professed life long learner, I began my creative journey as a primary school teacher. After further studies during covid, I made the move to interior design and haven’t looked back.
I love working with people to help them transform their homes and their personal lives - I truly believe that living in a well-designed home supports your happiness and well being and provides a space that you can thrive in.
With strong ties to Denmark, our work exhibits our distinct design values - integrating Danish simplicity with Australian warmth.
The art of Hygge has become second nature to me and I live and breathe hygge every day - when I am home, you will find me embracing the little moments in life - lighting tea lights with my morning cuppa; taking a sauna or pilates class; reading; walking my dog George by the beach and cooking for family and friends- these are some of my daily hygge rituals that make me happy.
