When we design for our clients, we are constantly putting ourselves in their shoes and thinking about how they move and use their home, from a bathroom on a busy school morning, to a kitchen at dinner time that needs to allow for homework; for cooking dinner and a seat for Grandpa who just popped in for a visit!

Sure, we want our designs to look amazing and tell the owners' story, but our first priority is always functionality. Combining the function and the form (the look) in a design specific to the clients' unique needs is where the magic happens - where client happiness and well being is elevated to a level not conceived prior to the design.

I'll never forget a client telling me at her 50th Birthday party just how happy they were - the renovation design meant that the home now works so much better for them. What was somewhat unexpected was the change in how they feel personally- it truly changed their lives, allowing for all family members to do more of what makes them happy- this included a new daily ritual of taking time to sit at their new cafe window for their sacred morning coffee together before heading off to work. Having a designated space to do more painting and arts 'n' crafts in the new study nook was also a favourite element of the design, with the result being a lot more painting is happening due to the ease of location and storage for everything. For the husband, it was having ample bench space to make home-made dough for his pizza oven - he is known for his amazing cooking and can now cater for many more friends and family in one hit- I can certainly relate to this - cooking for loved ones is certainly top of my hobbies that make me happy.

Whilst the big picture is always on our minds, we never underestimate the power of a cosy corner, a reading nook or a simple shelf of memories.

  • Our designs ensure your home is an authentic reflection of who you are –what you love, how you want to feel and what makes you happy.

  • Our designs encourage our clients to be closer together in the spaces; to be comfortable and more connected and to engage in deep, meaningful conversation.

After living in Denmark for several years over the last 30 years, hygge has become second nature to me and I live and breathe hygge every day - from lighting tea lights with my morning cuppa to cooking for my family and friends; to reading on my day bed in the evening- these are some of the daily rituals that make me happy.

The Danish art of Hygge is our studio's secret weapon, our superpower - it's our design philosophy and we are on a mission to bring hygge and happiness to as many people as we can!

‘Eat delicious things. Drink water. Take long hot baths. Wake up early. Get your hands dirty. Smell the sage. Keep the company of kind and funny people. Don't wait to be ready. And experience sensory pleasure, while you still can’.
