Grant House Photoshoot

Last week was a huge week for us, one of the busiest we have ever had, as we prepared for 2 photoshoots in one day - it's a fast paced, think on your feet kind of day - it is full on, but we got through it! A big thank you to RMIT Interior Design student Sophie, who helped us on the day, we couldn't of done it without her help!

I take my hat off to all stylists and photographers for the energy and composure they bring, kudos to them!

Here's a few images of the first home- Grant House, captured by the lovely Marie-Luise.

An iconic mid-century gem in the heart of Beaumaris, originally designed by renowned Architect Peter McIntyre. We were fortunate to be part of the team that restored the original home, with a sensitive small extension added to the rear to better accommodate today's lifestyle.

Like all mid-century homes, they are well designed for living and connection to nature - The natural light is wonderful and a neutral palette of warm timber and green layers, allowed the unique roofline and rear sunroom to be the heros of the main living area. Placing seating at the end of the kitchen island encourages more conversations and deeper connections, whilst it is also a fab spot to savour your morning coffee, with the sun peeping through. There is also a butler's pantry and laundry behind the kitchen wall that has dual access for flow and function.

A warm, welcome and fun home to be enjoyed by our lovely clients and their family and friends, for many years to come.

Capturing the details of our projects is a huge honour and a wonderful chance to reflect on the transformation we are part of to homes and their interiors. It is also an opportunity to listen to the feedback from our clients and hear the positive changes to their daily lives and happiness.

To see the home function and flow much better, results in clients spending less time looking for things (as things are more organised and stored properly) and more time doing the things they love to do, with higher levels of happiness and well-being.

Huge thanks to our fellow team players at the Grant house - Rob Harwood from My Architect Designed and to Robby and the team at EvoBuilt- a stellar job of sensitively renovating the old lady.

Below: the kitchen is a really functional space with an open island at the end, that also allows for great connection between people, seated across from each other for deeper conversation.

I have mentioned this statistic before, that we spend almost 90% of our time inside- how our homes function and flow have a direct effect on the humans in the home - the end result really is transformational to our clients' lives.

A lot of planning goes into photoshoots - from gathering the right foliage and vases to picking the right coloured books to display at the right angle for the best shot - our creative brains go into overdrive.
We aim to present homes that truly reflect the owners and ensure they highlight the designs and materials as best as possible. As always, our approach is 'less is more' and the art of restrain is at the forefront of our minds.

The wholesale florist comes in handy for photoshoot days! From Proteas to Lotus pods, you name it, they've got it!

We are super happy and creatively exhausted after a mammoth few weeks of preparation and execution last Friday - we can't wait to see all of Marie-Luise's professional images!

That's it from us this week, wishing you all a great weekend ahead!
