International Hygge Day

There seems to be a day for everything these days, but today the 28th February is one I am very happy to celebrate- International Hygge Day!

For those new to here, Hygge is a Danish word used to describe a moment and an atmosphere of warmth, well-being and cosiness with people you love. It is a time where you feel at peace and enjoy the simple pleasures of life being in the moment. I spent several years living in Denmark and after 30 plus years, Hygge is part of my way of living and my families' too.

This week, I have experienced lots of little moments of hygge, some with family and friends and other times, they have been moments on my own. Ultimately, they have been little moments, that collectively make me happy and feel a sense of joy.

I encourage you to think about what makes you happy - and tap into those moments more frequently. Being present and grateful can work in wondrous ways for us all - we all have so much to be grateful for.
Here's a snippet of my week, filled with hygge.

From Sauna to fresh bagels with salmon and dill cheese, to reading in the sun, hanging with George and cuddles with family - this is my hygge. It’s the simple things that make me happy.

Wishing you a Happy International Hygge Day!
